How do I set the 255 to factory default via the phones keypad?

press menu
input password : 123
press enter then you can see network
press down you can see system
press enter you can see save
press down you can see set default
then press enter you can see set default sys
then press down you can see set default all
press enter are you sure will be displayed
press enter
system will reboot

What are the default passwords

The default Guest user password is guest
The default Admin user password is Admin

We recommended that both passwords are changed.

How do I put the phone into safe mode

If the phone should happen to crash as part of a firmware upgrade for example, you may need to enter safe mode to recover it.

To achieve this you need to follow this process:

Power off the phone
Hold down the # and power up the phone until 'POST MODE' is displayed on the LCD
Set your PC in the 192.168.10.xxx range
Connect the WAN port of the IPC255 to your PC or router
Connect to the IPC255 by the IP Address of 192.168.10.1

How do I upgrade the firmware on the IPC255

Please email us for the latest firmware if you feel that the phone requires it.

Later version of the phone support MAC authentication. A code needs adding to phone for it to function correctly. To receive this code you need to email the phones MAC address to IPChitchat and we'll email you back with the authorisation code.

From your PC go to Start-run and type telnet phoneipaddress
Select option 4 clear configuration
Select option 5 to save the configuration and reboot the phone
Connect to the phone using the web console
Update the firmware through the web console
Input the MAC authentication that you recieved from IPChitChat
