How do I set the ATA to factory default?
Pick up the phone and input the password (1234), press the IP
button at the back of the gateway for at least 2 seconds and it
enters into the setting status Next press the speaker or cradle
(or flash button) four times and press # 55. The IPC168 will
then reboot and reset to the factory default.

How do you get the IP address of the IPC-168?
Press the IP button at the back of the AG-168V and pick up the
phone, you will hear the IP address played back to you.

What is the default password?
The default standard user password is 1234
The default super user password is 12345678
We recommended that both passwords are changed.

What is the Palmtool Utility and where do I
get it from?
The Palmtool is a windows utility that allows you to perform
the functions available through the Web Console, plus more.
Phone configurations can be saved or loaded, new ring tones
compiled, and connection problems can be de-bugged.

Why can I use the Web console to configure my
phone, but Palmtool doesn’t work?
If the IP phone’s “debug” setting is set to “no output”, it
is impossible to use the Palmtool utility. If you need to use
the Palmtool utility, then log into the phone through the Web
Console and select the “debug” option to any other value.
Alternatively use the telnet utility to achieve this:
From a cmd prompt or from run within windows
Type Telnet IPADDRESS
Type set debug 4 (ENTER)
Type write (ENTER)

How do I use the speed dial function?
Use the Palmtool or Web console to enter into the
configuration pag and find the address tab
Type in a useful name and number after the 001 field
Save the entry
To call the number using speed dial, press the speaker + 001 +
fast dial-up button.

I cannot connect to the phone through the
web-console?
Enter safe mode
Power off
Press and hold the IP button and then power on
Release the IP after 10 seconds
Power and Tel light are lit.
IPC-168 is in the safe mode will have a static IP of
192.168.1.100.
Use the Palmtool to upgrade the firmware. Make sure your
computer is in the same network address range as the IPC-168,
for example: 192.168.1.9.
I can ping the phone but can't use the
Palmtool to access it. What do I do
In Windows click Start - Run
Type Telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (this is your phones IP address)
Input the super password when prompted (either 12345678 or
19750407)
Type set debug 4 (enter)
Type write (enter)
You should now be able to access the phone using the Palmtool
utility
The ATA has frozen on upgrade or after
configuration change and now it is undetectable on the network.
What do I do?o
1.Press and hold IP button for 10 seconds and power up the
ATA
2.Power off and do 1 again, after the second time the ATA
powers up, the ATA will enter safe mode and has a default IP
address of 192.168.1.100.
3.Run palmtool from the same LAN and enter 192.168.1.100
