Why choose VoIP?
IP Convergence - Using your existing IP Network to deliver IP Telephony brings with it not only faster and better communications - it also
means lower total cost of ownership, greater business agility and increased workforce productivity. Further benefits of convergence include:
Flexibility - An IP-based telephone can be moved anywhere within your IP network and still retain its configuration details, including
phone number and voice mail settings. Adding new phones to your network doesn't require the expense of additional wiring and professional services. Remote workers can access
their corporate telephony system from anywhere in the world where they have an internet connection.
Cost-effective growth - Major enhancements such as unified messaging or integrated voice response are either all ready part of an IP
telephony system, or can be upgraded at a fraction of the cost of a traditional system.
Scalability - IP users can start with only the amount of telephones that they require, adding in new devices as required.
Free Phone Calls - IP to IP calls are free. This means that in conjunction with an IP-PBX , significant cost saving can be achieved for
remote site or mobile/home workers.

What hardware do I require?
Analogue Telephone Adaptors (ATA)
ATA's are used to allow conventional telephones to make calls to remote VOIP servers. Each ATA will have a minimum of one FXS port that allows connectivity between the
telephone and the ATA. It will also have a minimum of 1 RJ45 connection that will be used to connect the ATA onto the network (or internet) Communication with the VOIP server is
achieved using standard based protocols including SIP, H323, IAX2.
Wired Hardware IP Telephone
IP Telephones contain one or more RJ45 connectors that allows the phone to communicate over a LAN, WAN or broadband connection, to other VOIP Servers, gateways or directly to
other IP Telephones. Hardware based IP Phones don't require a computer to operate unlike softphones.
WiFi IP Phone
WiFi phones are hardware VOIP devices that do not require an RJ45 network connection, but instead connect to the network or broadband internet via a wireless
access point.
Skype Phones and ATA's
Skype is a PC based software programme that allows registered members to communicate for free. To enhance this experience, IPChitchat offer a range of USB Skype
compatible phones and ATA's.
